Owain Irwell Hughes! World premiere recording of Welsh string works! This is a rare album consisting entirely of string works by Welsh composers, and all of the recordings are world premiere recordings. The album includes works by Grace Williams, who studied under Vaughan Williams, and Irwell Hughes (father of the conductor), the delicate "Romance" by Morviz Owen, who died at the young age of 26, and Christopher Wood's powerful "The Aberfan Tragedy" in memory of the worst industrial accident in British history, "The Abervan Tragedy", which took place in 1966. Christopher Wood's powerful musical monument, "Aberváin," commemorates the worst industrial accident in British history, the "Aberfan Tragedy" of 1966, and brings the hidden creative tradition of Wales vividly to life through a variety of musical styles. Born in Cardiff, Wales in 1942, Owain Alwel Hughes (Owain Alwel Hughes) grew up the son of successful composer and conductor Alwel Hughes (1909-1988), who studied conducting with Boult, Haitink, Kempe, and others. He has been a passionate music maker for more than 40 years.Although not yet well known in Japan, he has built up a solid reputation in Europe and the United States, and was awarded the CBE (Order of the British Empire, 3rd degree) in 2009.
