Seven of Stereolab's studio albums are being reissued in 2LP editions that faithfully reproduce the original source material! A limited number of these albums will also be available with Japanese-language obi! Seven of Stereolab's studio albums are being reissued in new 2LP editions by Duophonic UHF Disks / Warp Records! This release features remastered material that was released in an expanded edition in 2019. In addition, the high quality of the music was cut by Beau Condren (Calyx Mastering) from the original 1/2" tapes and supervised by Tim Gaine. Each album is packaged in a single 5mm wide sleeve and a printed inner sleeve with a protective PVC outer bag. Each album will also be released in a limited quantity with a Japanese wraparound obi! The repetitive and motorik beats borrow from Krautrock designs. A unique work with a noisy and experimental soundscape. This is the first album produced by the lineup that laid the foundation for Stereolab's later work, which included original members Gain and Sadiere along with Mary Hansen and Andy Ramsey. The sound of this album is very different from the one after "Emperor Tomato Ketchup," which made an impression on the band, with repetition and motoric beats borrowed from so-called Krautrock at the core of the music. In addition, the band's characteristic use of drones and white noise as psychedelic music, similar to that of the Velvet Underground of the 1960s, is also a feature of the album. The noisy and experimental flavor of the album, and its distinctiveness even in their discography, makes it a work that will not fade away in its impact even after listening to it again.
