In 2014, the band's debut album, "Dead," won a Mercury Prize, beating out such top contenders as FKA Twigs and Damon Albarn. 2017 saw the band's six songs featured in the hit movie "T2" and their first appearance in Japan as the support act for Massive Attack's Japan tour in November. In 2017, Young Fathers, whose six songs were featured in the hit movie "Trainspotting" and who made their first visit to Japan in November as the support act for Massive Attack's Japan tour and were praised for their thrilling performance, released their first new album since 2015's "White Men Are Black Men Too", "Cocoa Sugar". The Young Fathers will release their new album "Cocoa Sugar" on March 9 (Friday). In "T2 Trainspotting," the sequel to the movie "Trainspotting," which influenced many young people through music and fashion, the soundtrack received as much attention as the movie itself, with director Danny Boyle calling it "the heartbeat of the movie. The Young Fathers returned with six songs, including the classic "Only God Knows," and took another leap forward.On the 28th of this month, they will be performing at Video Jam x Basquiat, an event to be held at the Barbican Center in London to honor the achievements of Jean-Michel Basquiat, and they have been receiving a lot of attention not only from the music scene but also from the art and culture scene. The emotional hooks and genre-less musical elements that revolutionized the pop sound of the '10s have been further evolved in this album. The striking artwork released this time shows the innovative design and art direction of photographer Julia Noni, who has done fashion photography for Christian Dior and worked with major artists such as Grace Jones, Massive Attack, and David Bowie. The collaboration is led by creative director Tom Hingston, known for his innovative design and art direction through his work with major artists such as Grace Jones, Massive Attack, and David Bowie.
