Leonskaya, who first gained international attention with her duo with Richter and is still respected by musicians around the world, and Tugan Sokhiev conduct the performance of Beethoven: Piano Concerto, an emotional blissful pleasure! Elizabet Leonskaya and Tugan Sohiyev's vast expression of Beethoven's concerto shows how ideal Beethoven is. The sense of hold, weightless grandeur, elegance of phrasing, carved nuances, dazzling colors... always played in mastered rhythms, with uplifting rebounds of sentences and chord endings. The long orchestral presentation that begins the concerto section is eagerly awaited to be taken over by the pianist, allowing all the long phrasing prompted by the conductor to be included in these first notes. Leonskaya, who says she truly enjoys working with Sohiev, seems to sing along with the orchestra, and her piano is majestic as she pursues the great phrases with the orchestra. The work in particular is a wonderful musical dialogue between conductor, orchestra, and pianist, which only adds to the pleasure of playing and listening together, and Leonskaya demonstrates that Beethoven's wonderful melodies are a marvel of expressiveness and a marvel of a composer.The most moving moment is clearly expressed in the second movement, where the pianist first plays alone, setting the tone. It seems to express confidence, happiness, and sharing. The delicacy of the orchestra under Sohiev's sensitive direction manipulates the strings and winds as pure joy, and the piano's sweet queen and subtle nuances play like a fairy, and the happiness is encountered as an unforgettable moment. The swaying that appears throughout is exquisitely incorporated to become the "wonderful happiness" of the moment of the movement of the sentences. This is truly a performance of emotional bliss and joy! The Japanese-language commentary, available only from Warner Music Japan, includes a Japanese-language commentary by Yudai Majima and a Japanese translation of the work's commentary by Charlotte Ginot-Slacik (professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Lyon).
