This is the soundtrack disc for Il Bohemo, a film about the life of composer Mislivecek. Countertenor Filip Jaroussky and soprano Emeke Barato sing and appear in the film. Countertenor Filip Jaroussky and soprano Emeke Barat are featured on the soundtrack of the 2022 film Il Bohemo (The Life of Myslivecek) by Czech filmmaker Petr Václav. The film is a feature film about the life and career of Prague-born composer Josef Myslivacek (1737-1781). The film was selected as the Czech winner of the 95th Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film and premiered at the 70th San Sebastian International Film Festival on September 19, 2022. Mislivecek was a major figure in European opera, composing more than 20 operas and achieving fame in Venice, Naples, and Munich. Mozart often expressed his admiration for Mislivecek in his private letters.Philip Jaroussky and Emeke Barath are on screen as opera singers in Il Bohemo. The orchestra is played by Collegium 1704, a period instrument ensemble founded in Prague in 2005 by Václav Luks.
