Formed in Devon, southwest England, in 1972—when the scene was at its peak—the progressive/art rock band FLOOD performed energetically for about two years, even opening for the likes of GENESIS and HAWKWIND. Unfortunately, they vanished from the spotlight without leaving any recorded work behind. Unreleased acetate recordings, reportedly made secretly during their active years, have been unearthed after more than 50 years and released in 2026 by BrightCarvings—a label specializing in the discovery of ultra-rare, private press, and acetate press releases from the UK’s underground rock, folk, and experimental music scenes! Featuring a tight, jazz-rock-oriented ensemble, refreshing flute melodies, and just-loose-enough psychedelic-hard-leaning guitar solos that intertwine beautifully, this artistic sound—reminiscent of early JETHRO TULL or SKINALLEY—is sure to tickle the fancy of any music enthusiast.
