World-renowned flutist Emmanuelle Payu was born in 1970 in Geneva, Switzerland, and began playing the flute at the age of six, demonstrating her talent early on. In 1992, at the young age of 22, he became the principal flutist of the Berlin Philharmonic, a position that brought him to the forefront of the orchestra's attention. He temporarily left the orchestra to become a soloist, but later returned. He has also performed as a soloist with orchestras around the world. Payu's playing is characterized by smooth and versatile tone, superb technique, and poetic expression. With a wide repertoire ranging from baroque to contemporary works, and a deep knowledge of ancient instruments and period techniques, he plays each piece according to its period and style. The ensemble's expressiveness and ensemble ability are highly regarded, especially in concertos by Mozart, Nielsen, and other composers. He has released numerous CDs on the former EMI Classics → Warner Classics label. He has left behind masterpieces in various forms, including solo, concerto, and chamber music, and is supported by fans all over the world. He also conducts teaching activities and master classes, contributing to the development of the next generation.
