While leading The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Jimi Hendrix worked with a variety of artists to hone his creativity, and on April 15, 1968, while preparing for a New York concert, he performed with B.B. King at the Generation Club. B.B. King and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band at the Generation Club. The show was recorded and broadcast for a local FM station, so this session was also recorded and broadcast. B.B. King, who had already made a name for himself as a blues musician, and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, an up-and-coming blues-rock band, joined together in this incredibly spectacular blues music session.The guitar battle between Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, and of course Mike Bloomfield, a young blues-rock guitarist who had been the talk of the town, was truly a night of legends, and this is the long-awaited release of the album!
