Description:
GEZAN Delightful & ecstatic 12inch single release! Mahitu the Peepo's first film "i ai", released in March 2024, was an atypical coming-of-age film colored in red. The film is set in Akashi and Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture. The story revolves around the protagonist, a new band member named Ko (Kentaro Tomita), and his brother Hee (Mirai Moriyama), whom Ko idolizes, and the story revolves around life and death. The story is based on Mahito's real-life experiences, and while reality and fiction are duplicated, the boundary between them slowly melts away. The film co-stars Satoh Honami, Kazuki Horike, Mitsuru Suikoshi, Eita Nagayama, Kyoko Koizumi, K-BOMB, Ichi Omiya, and many other unique personalities. It should also be noted that the crystal-clear images by photographer Masafumi Sanai gave the film a special emotional quality. The theme of the film, which is not bound by film theory, is the same as that of GEZAN's recent works and Mahito's writings: "How can we live in a broken society while interacting with others? We can never live alone. However, living with others is not easy either.How can we overcome the extreme division of the world in this era? The main theme song of the film, titled "i ai," which Mahito not only directed but also wrote the script and composed the music for the film, left an extremely strong impression on the audience. This 12" single contains that "i ai" and is the first analog release. Led by a soft guitar arpeggio, the song gradually builds to a fever pitch, condensing the mood of a film that encompasses both serenity and intensity. GEZAN has been working with the Million Wish Collective, a 15-member chorus group, and the senses cultivated through their activities are utilized here. (1/2)
