Without any prior notice, they surprised fans by releasing a completely new album digitally on March 20. The entire world rejoiced at the rebirth of NEUROSIS. Since the new lineup solidified two years ago, they have been composing and producing in strict secrecy, with new member Aaron Turner greatly inspiring the other four members. Rather than the folk and ambient elements they began incorporating in the 2000s, the focus is on heavy riffs reminiscent of *Enemy of the Sun*, *Through Silver in Blood*, and *Times of Grace*. Through composition that pushes the very limits of structure, the band has transcended the simple description of “Neurosis + ISIS,” giving birth to a work that truly could only have been created by Neurosis.
