Sam Frantz, whom jazz fusion master Bob James met in the midst of the Corona Disaster, began DJing with MEMCO (Michigan Electronic Music Collective) while attending the University of Michigan, and spent his student years exposed to the historic and underground music of Southeast Michigan as a young DJ/ electronic artist. Bob himself, after graduating from the University of Michigan about 60 years ago, challenged the cutting-edge avant-garde music of the time and created a sensation with his innovative sound. 60 years later, they were both challenging music in the same place and with the same spirit. Finally, a DJ/electronic artist in his 20s and an 80-year-old maestro meet and weave new music in Michigan. We hope that you will enjoy the number obtained by multiplying the two artists' ages and the "sound of 2080" they are aiming for on the analog disc. (C)RS
