Description:
<The most important disc showing the isolated state that Frytschai reached in Mozart in his last years. The world's first SA-CD release! The world's first SA-CD release of Fritjai's Mozart, a masterpiece of his, in which his obsession with life and his resignation intertwine. This is the latest reissue from the original analog master tapes in the original country for this release! The best-selling CD (PROC-1271) from this project (TOWER RECORDS UNIVERSAL VINTAGE COLLECTION +plus), released in 2013, has been reissued using the original analog master tapes from the country of its origin for this latest reissue, This latest reissue of the original analog master tapes from the original country of origin was mastered at Emil Berliner Studios (EBS) and then digitized in high-resolution to the latest mastering and SA-CD format, resulting in sound quality that exceeds the freshness of the previous version. In addition to Mozart's Symphonies Nos. 39 and 40 recorded with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in 1959, and Nos. 29 and 41 recorded in 1961, the "Eine Kleine" with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra recorded in 1958 and two small pieces with the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin recorded in 1960 are included in the margins. The two pieces are again collected on two discs. For Fritschaj, Mozart was a composer whom he respected throughout his life, along with his native Bartók. In his book, he describes Mozart as his absolute musical standard, and he also has an affinity with Bartók. Although he had recorded his symphonies earlier, in the mid-1950s, or performed them live, this recording with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra is characterized by a much slower tempo, especially in the slow movement, compared to his earlier recordings. It is not known whether this collaboration was due to his frequent guest appearances with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra (according to one theory, Fritschaj himself requested it), but these two recordings with the Musikverein are highly regarded as one of Fritschaj's best recordings as they show the softness of his sound and the style of his later years. The second recording on the Musikverein is highly acclaimed as one of Fritjay's masterpieces. The slow tempo of the second movement of No. 39, the dark and gloomy expression of No. 40, the dashing sound of No. 29 in the 1961 recording, and the transparent sound and the tempo of the second movement of No. 41 (9:42 without repetition!), which seem to be similar to his later period performances, are all memorable. The clear sound and the tempo of the second movement in No. 41 (9:42 without repetition!), etc., are sure to remain in your mind once you hear this Mozart performance. The gallop of "Eine Kleine," which was also recorded just after the onset of the disease, and the diametrically opposed Freemason & Adagio and Fugue are also superb. Both performances should be handed down to the future. Also included are two commentaries by Fritschai himself. The booklet is also worth reading. (1/2)
