King Crimson

Description:

The original King Crimson is now a rock myth. The archive material consisting of the Fillmore West concert in San Francisco on the eve of the collapse of the original lineup and BBC recordings has been restored on SHM-CD! This is a collection of archive recordings of the original King Crimson, which collapsed after less than a year of activity, leaving only one masterpiece, "The Palace of the Crimson King", which remains in the history books. It was first released in 1997 and became an unprecedentedly huge hit for an excavation CD, and was so popular that sequels were released for Vol. 1 & 2.The first Vol. 1 & 2 packages are now being re-released in SHM-CD format and E-format paper jackets, with superior sound quality! The four tracks are from the BBC Top Gear sessions of May 6, 1969, when the recording of "The Crimson King's Palace" was about to begin, and August 19, 1969, when the recording was at its peak. The Fillmore West 2-Days show in San Francisco, December 1969, which was the last performance by the original Crimson, as the original lineup disintegrated when Ian McDonald and Michael Giles announced their departure from the band shortly after this show. The excitement of the last Original Crimson performance, which was greeted with enthusiasm at the time of the original release, is still alive and well today. In addition to such classic songs from "Palace" as "Skizzoid Man," "Palace," and "Epitaph," there are also "A Man, A City," the prototype for "Cold City Scene" on the second album "Poseidon's Wake," Holst's "Mars," which evolved into "Devil's Triangle," and Giles' "Drop In," a song from the Giles & Flip era that later changed lyrics and was included on the album "Islands" as "The Letters, The album is filled with songs that are full of surprises and discoveries only possible with archival material, such as "Drop In," a song from the Giles & Fripp era that later appeared on the "Islands" album as "The Letters," but with different lyrics. The original master data owned by DGM has been directly converted to SHM-CD without any unnecessary mastering. SHM-CD format. SHM-CD ■New commentary included ■E-type spread paper jacket ■Original 1997
