Pianist and conductor Vladimir Ashkenazy, who made his name in the world at the International Chopin Piano Competition in 1955 and left behind many masterpieces on the Decca label with his outstanding technique and polished tone, was sadly missed by many fans when he announced his retirement from concert activities in January 2020. The news of Ashkenazy's retirement in January 2020 was widely circulated around the world, and his retirement was regretted by many fans.
