As in the past, the Danish Ballads & More features the splendid rhythm section of the Jan Lundgren Trio, and includes traditional Danish songs, Danish jazz and pop numbers, and works by Oscar Pettiford, who was born in the US but moved to Denmark and worked in the country. The album features a variety of Danish ballads full of songfulness. Hamilton's tenor, which has matured and deepened, and Jan Lundgren's shimmering piano color the lovely Danish numbers.
