Description:
With Japanese commentary The latest in the Swiss Radio series! The first time to be released on an official disc! Charles Lloyd Q 1967 live in Switzerland! TCB's "Swiss Radio Days Jazz Series" has been reissuing high-quality remastered recordings from the original tapes of rare broadcast recordings. Volume 46 features a rare live performance of the Charles Lloyd Quartet in Switzerland, the first time the recordings have been officially released on vinyl! This is the first live performance of the Montreux Jazz Festival, one of the three major jazz festivals in the world, held in 1967! This is Charles Lloyd's Quartet from the period when Keith Jarrett joined and made his name famous (the year after his masterpiece "Forest Flower")! World premiere release from authorized sources. The sound quality is also very good as it is an official reissue from a broadcast source! This newly discovered CD features the performance at the 1967 Montreux Jazz Festival by the quartet that made Charles Lloyd's name.(This time, TCB Records of Switzerland has officially released the album as part of the Swiss Radio Days series, so the sound is far better, partly because the tapes were recorded by a radio station, and partly because the album contains all the music the quartet played on this stage. This is a very welcome discovery for those who love Charles Lloyd's music. ~From the liner notes of the domestic edition by Yukinori Omura (information from the importer) Charles Lloyd (ts, fl), Keith Jarrett (p), Ron McClure (b), Jack DeJohnette (ds) Charles Lloyd, tenor saxophone & flute / Keith Jarrett, piano / Ron McClure, bass / Jack DeJohnette, drums Recorded (live): June 18, 1967, Switzerland Domestic edition (with Japanese commentary and Japanese obi) Commentary: Yukinori Omura (newly written)
