Description:

New recordings by Bojan Cicic! The complete Handel violin sonatas! Bojan Cicic, one of the standard-bearers of the new generation of baroque violinists and a rising star of the ancient music world, has been a concertmaster and core member of the Brecon Baroque, Florilegium, Arcangelo, Ancient Chamber Orchestra and EU Baroque Orchestra. He is one of the standard-bearers of the new generation of baroque violinists. His monumental recording of Bach's Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin (DCD34300/PDCD34300) has brought him new attention, and he has been selected as "Critics' Choice 2023" by Gramophone magazine and "Finalist 2023" by Presto Recordings of the Year in the UK. Cicich, who was named "Critics' Choice 2023" by Gramophone magazine and "Finalist 2023" by Presto Recordings of the Year, will now take on the challenge of performing Handel's complete violin sonatas.Although Handel is best known as a virtuoso keyboard player, he also trained as a violinist in his youth, and essayist Donald Burroughs has described Handel's works for violin and harpsichord as "flowing, pleasing chamber music that does not demand attention through showy virtuosity, but rather through the violinist's It is flowing, pleasant chamber music in which the violinist engages in a musical conversation with the keyboard player." Accompaniment is by Stephen Divine, an English virtuoso who has performed with the Illyrian Consort as a member. He has known the magnificent Kirkman harpsichord, made in London in 1756, since his boyhood, and says, "It is a glory and a pleasure to record Handel's sonatas on this instrument. Tokyo M-Plus
