From Scarlatti to Jazz. Luca Duvalgue, born in 1990, is a young pianist who captivates audiences with his uninhibited playing! Born in 1990, Luca Duvalgue began playing the piano at the age of 11 in his hometown of Compiègne, but left music at the age of 15 to pursue literature at the University of Diderot in Paris. However, his passion for music was insatiable, and at the age of 20 he resumed piano lessons and met Professor Lena Sherezhevskaya, who taught him the importance of practice. She taught him the importance of practice and a rigorous attitude toward music, and without losing his natural musical flexibility, Duvalgue developed a solid technique that earned him a fourth prize at the 15th International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2015. In 2015, only five years later, he won the fourth prize at the "15th International Tchaikovsky Competition: Piano Section" and attracted a lot of attention. Just by listening to the stunning performance of Tchaikovsky's "Sentimental Waltz" at the beginning of the video, one can understand that Duvalgue is an outstanding talent. The video was shot by Martin Mirabel, a visual arts student who met Duvalgue in a college classroom in 2008 and later became a close friend. Duvalgue happily plays jazz and rag, and Duvalgue anguishedly plays Ravel.The portrayal of Duvalgue through the eyes of Mirabelle, who knows all about his "naive but talkative" nature and his intense passion for music, is very interesting, and the dialogue with his mentor Lena Sherezhevskaya, which is full of many suggestions, is another highlight.
