Alexandre Gindzin is a young pianist who made his dashing debut about 10 years ago with a repertoire of superbly crafted works, including Schubert arranged by Liszt. He has since gained a lot of experience and now appears on the NAXOS label. He will be performing works by Scriabin (1872-1915). The program is a good combination of his early and late works with sonatas as the centerpiece. Scriabin (1872-1915) was a young pianist who had to overuse his right hand, and after that he decided to become a composer (the first sonata was written around this time). Although the 8th sonata is not the last sonata, it was actually composed later than the 10th sonata, making it in effect his last sonata. Although it is atonal, its harmonies are bewitchingly beautiful and difficult to understand. Naxos Japan
