There is not much more to say about the Hungarian-born composer and pianist Liszt (1811-1886), but the works included in this collection make one wonder if there are still many aspects of his music that remain unknown. Liszt, whose brilliant technique sent the whole of Europe into a frenzy, visited Russia several times between 1843 and 1847. During these visits, he made several arrangements of music inspired by composers he met and added to his own repertoire. As we know, the Marquise Caroline, whom he met on his last visit to Russia in 1847, was a major influence in his life. Naxos Japan
