This is a disc in which we hear the versatile expression of Kathleen Ferrier (1912-1953), one of the greatest English singers of the 20th century. She sings arias by Bach and Handel, as well as songs by Schumann and Schubert, with consummate technique. The eight songs recorded at the Oslo Broadcasting Station in 1949 include four Wolff songs, which are the only surviving recordings of her repertoire, and are rare in her repertoire, making this a must for fans.
