Recorded between 2011 and 2015, these highly acclaimed performances vividly portray Ravel's multifaceted appeal, including Slatkin's unique interpretation. In the first collection, Ravel's brilliant orchestrations of the masterpieces "Bolero" and "Spanish Rhapsody" are fully appreciated. The second collection includes two waltzes and other piano pieces that have been reconstructed into colorful orchestral music with delicate and enchanting tones. The third collection includes "Pictures at an Exhibition" (Slatkin's own arrangement of the Fifth Promenade, which Ravel deleted when he orchestrated it) and other rare arrangements. The fourth collection focuses on the magnificent "Daphnis et Chloe," while the fifth collection includes the world premiere recording of Ravel's world premiere recording of the incidental music "Antar" with a new text by Aman Malouf, which was created by Ravel after being inspired by Russian music. The following sixth collection includes the piano concerto and the passionate "Tzigane.
