Description:
A fitting continuation of the contract by trumpet virtuoso Alison Balsom, a new concept album exploring 20th century American music Alison Balsom was born in 1978 in Hertfordshire, England. She began her career on the trumpet, studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, where she studied with such virtuosos as Håkan Hardenberger and John Wallace. In 2000, he won first prize in the "Most Beautiful Sound" category of the Maurice André International Competition. He has won several Gramophone Awards, Classical Brit Awards, and Echo Classical Awards, etc. In 2009, when he appeared on the last night of the Proms, the largest classical music festival in the UK, the presenter introduced him as an expert yacht sailor, and It is reported that she married in January 2017 Sam Mendes, a film director and producer known for "Spectre" and other films, with whom she was scooped on a yacht date. Master trumpeter Alison Balsam is widely regarded as one of the most technically, musically, and globally sought-after trumpeters of her generation, and has established a multifaceted career as a passionate educator, music education spokesperson, and curator.Of course, he is a master of many different types of modern trumpet, but he is also known as a master of the natural trumpet. Alison Balsam, one of the most talented and popular artists in the world, has been under an exclusive contract with Warner Classics for 20 years since the old EMI days, and has already released 15 albums, each of which has been highly acclaimed and a bestseller worldwide. The company has now signed a further contract extension with Warner Classics. The first work selected for this contract extension is different in orientation from her previous albums, exploring 20th century American music composed during the height of the jazz craze. The sound of the solo trumpet in classical and jazz music of the time was in contrasting styles, but it was exciting, simple, and haunting, representing the American aural landscape. Fascinated by the meeting place of these two styles among both composers and performers, Balsam seeks to share her deep affection for this particular character of the genre-defying instrument.Japanese language commentary with Japanese booklet and Japanese obi, available only from Warner Music Japan. The Japanese commentary includes a Japanese translation of a conversation between British jazz critics John Fordham and Alison Balsom about the album, written by Yu Nishimura.
