The film is based on the novel of the same name by Kanata Kimijima, which was highly praised by Naoki Prize-winning author Mizuki Tsujimura. Up-and-coming director Yuichiro Sakashita brings the two characters to life on screen in a way that is both poignant and fresh. ■ The supporting cast is also packed with talented actors! Junichi Tazaki, a key figure in the story, is played by Motoki Nakazawa, who garnered attention for his excellent performance as naval officer Chihiro Yanai in the NHK morning drama “Anpan.” Manami’s fiancé, Ryo Hasumi, is played by Ko Maehara, marking his second collaboration with Yoshine following the drama “Nami Urarakani, Meoto Biyori.” Yuta Hayashi, who stars alongside Takumi Kitamura and Go Ayano in the film *The Fool’s Identity*, plays Riku’s younger brother, Roku Sakahira. Additionally, Nene Otsuka and Masaaki Akahori play Manami’s parents, while Reiko Kataoka and Takashi Yamanaka play Riku’s parents. Furthermore, talented actors such as Ruka Ishikawa, Tomoya Maeno, and Eri Fuse appear in the film, delivering performances that gently complement the story.
