The Yardbirds
Description:
The Yardbirds, led by Jimmy Page, are going the hard route. Three types of broadcast recordings, including a full-stage recording from Sweden. The Yardbirds, the legendary British beat band that produced three great rock guitarists, E. Clapton, J. Beck and J. Page. The band had hit songs such as "Shapes of Things" and "Heartful of Soul," and when Jimmy Page took over as the third guitarist, the band took a hard line that would later lead to Led Zeppelin. A pop band moves to rock, and then to hard rock.... Here are some rare live recordings from 1967, a time of such change, from live broadcast recordings. The first song is "Shapes of Things," and the guitar phrases in the middle of the first verse are surprisingly Zeppelin-like riffs. The live performance was also superb. While Page's guitar solo continued, the band gradually slowed down the tempo, and the venue became quiet, then suddenly the guitar intro of "Heartache" rang out, and it was like "This is ZEP! The second live recording is from the Stockholm show, which is well-known among the fans. The second live recording is from the Stockholm show, which is well-known to enthusiasts. It was recorded from a transcription disc, and is highly regarded as a rare live recording from the Page period. The live performance of "Little Games," the original idea for "Immigrant Song," is especially valuable. I'm a Man," a repertoire song from the Clapton era, was also performed by J. Page, who later became famous with Zeppelin, using a violin bow to transform it into a haunting blues song, full of psychedelic atmosphere. The reprise of the phrase from "Over Under Sideways Down" at the end of the song is also very Page-like. The second is a performance on the famous German TV program "Beat Beat Beat.During the tour in the U.S. the previous year, Jeff Beck suddenly left the band, and J. Page took over the backbone of the Yardbirds. This is a collection of live recordings from that period of the Yardbirds' history, in which he successfully rebuilt the Yardbirds by applying the musical ideas he had developed as a studio guitarist. This is a re-edited and upgraded version of the Jimmie Page Years previously released as part number EGRO-0009. The liner notes in Japanese explain the situation of the time, episodes, and song titles, etc. This is from Eternal Grooves' "ROCK OFF" series! Licensed by JASRAC (Japan Copyright Association).
