Bernstein's beloved Schumann No. 2 with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, live from 1983! To celebrate the 15th anniversary of BR-KLASSIK, the label that releases recordings of orchestras under the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation, a live performance of Schumann's 2nd Symphony No. 2 conducted by Bernstein is released from the archives of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation. Bernstein and the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks performed together regularly in the 1980s. In this CD, the excellent orchestra gives a performance of Schumann's Second Symphony, which Bernstein loved all his life and conducted immersed in the music as if becoming one with it, with the full support of the orchestra. The basic interpretation is the same as that of the Vienna Philharmonic recording made in November 1985, but the playing time is slightly shorter in each movement, However, the playing time of each movement is slightly shorter, and the performance is tighter. The acoustic of the Herkulessaal is also attractive, and the orchestra blends with each other to give a warm sound.The Divertimento was performed on the same day, and the orchestra's virtuosity was on full display in a relaxed atmosphere.
