The young Donizetti's excellent opera "The Perplexed Tutor" -- Video of the revival of the Roman premiere version! Don Giulio, a Roman nobleman, is a hard-headed politician. He entrusts the education and training of his two sons, Enrico and Pippet, to his tutor, Gregorio, and strictly forbids his sons to have any contact with women. However, the elder brother, Enrico, has secretly married a neighbor's daughter, Gilda, and they have a child together. Fearing that his father will find out, Enrico asks Gregorio for help. ...... The young Donizetti composed the opera "The Perplexed Tutor," which premiered in Rome in 1824 to great acclaim. This production is a revival of the Rome premiere version, a new production of the Donizetti Festival, which was launched in 2015 as a joint project of the Donizetti Foundation and the city of Bergamo, Donizetti's birthplace, and has brought an innovative new look to the staging of Donizetti's works.The production by Francesco Micheli, artistic director of the Donizetti Festival, takes place in the near future (2042), satirizing digital technology (social networking sites, tablets, VR goggles, avatars, etc.) that has taken over the educational scene. The film also depicts the fathers who are trapped in old-fashioned morality, their sons who want to freely associate with men and women, and the governess who acts as a mediator between the two. Alessandro Corbelli as Don Giulio and Alex Esposito as Gregorio, the governess, are two of Opera Buffa's leading singers, and a group of young singers selected from the trainees of the Bottega Donizetti master classes run by the Donizetti Theater Foundation. The singers, selected from the trainees of "Bottega Donizetti," a master class run by the Donizetti Theater Foundation, will give a lively performance in response to the music guided by the light and fresh tact of Vincenzo Millettari, a newcomer born in 1990.
