This is a late Baroque sound picture scroll woven around the theme of an enigmatic musician, and Anneke Scott's superb natural horns are also featured! This album recreates the program of the concert while revealing the existence of the mysterious "Mr. Charles," a musician who gave a masterful performance using multiple wind instruments. The Irish Baroque Orchestra, which has been making remarkable progress in recent years, offers high-quality performances of works by various composers, both famous and unknown, and the appeal of this album is that it allows the audience to experience the works of various composers. The English name of "Mr. Charles" is described in the recording as "Hungarian," but it is assumed to be Charles Vernberg, who was probably a member of the Royal Society of Musicians of Great Britain and played the natural horn with great ease. Vernberg not only played the natural horn with great ease, but also the oboe d'amore, the clarinet, which was still a rarity at that time, and its predecessor, the chalumeau.The ensemble is composed by such virtuosos as Anneke Scott and Nicolas Bourdos, who have attracted attention in the contemporary ancient music scene through their performances of these instruments, and they bring out the unique flavor of the ancient instruments in their fine ensembles.
