Description:
Henri Littorf was a Romantic pianist and composer born in England and active in France. He learned music from his violinist father, and at the age of 12, he became a pupil of Ignaz Moscheles without compensation, making his debut at Covent Garden. He then moved to France. He was active throughout Europe as a pianist, conductor, and publisher, and Hans von Bülow called him "the English Liszt. Littlef left behind a large number of works for piano, but today they are rarely performed except for a few. In this series, Litolff's virtuoso salon-style pieces can be enjoyed to the fullest. The first collection includes arabesques, polkas, mazurkas, waltzes, and other character dances. The performance is by Tibetan-born Tingyou Jiang. She is a promising newcomer who is active mainly in China and the United States. Naxos Japan
