Description:
The "Red-Haired Priest" is a group of talented and up-and-coming countertenors who have been studying for the priesthood and have become priests, but they have also been working in the church, conducting an orchestra of girls as music teachers at the Pietà di Charità in Venice, and playing the violin themselves with overwhelming skill. Vivaldi was a composer. As a composer, he left behind not only instrumental works such as solo concertos and sonatas like the four "Four Seasons," but also many operas and vocal works for churches that brought the water city to life during the Carnival season. This album is the first time that the Arcangelo, an ancient music ensemble under the direction of Jonathan Cohen, which is active in the world of baroque opera beyond its home base in England, has faced this great composer in a full-fledged recording. The selection of the album is also centered on vocal music, and the partner chosen is Tim Meade, a British countertenor singer who is making remarkable progress! His overwhelmingly beautiful voice, both warm and clear, vividly portrays both the sacred and secular sides of Vivaldi, from "Nisi Dominus" with its elegant viola d'amore solo, to "O God of Love, All right, you win" in which he sings the glory of love with great dynamism.
