The Dvorak & Brahms series, in which conductor Jakub Hrusha, born in Brno, Czech Republic, has been recording with the prestigious Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, of which he has been Chief Conductor since 2016, is now complete with the simultaneous release of two titles! The Bamberg Symphony Orchestra was originally an orchestra of German descent in Prague, Czech Republic. Musicians who fled the Czech Republic at the end of World War II and settled in the ancient city of Bamberg founded the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra in 1946, the year after the war ended. Since then, the orchestra's sound, with its low center of gravity, German balance, and Central European timbre, combined with the music-making of German maestros such as Kjellbert, Jochum, and Horst Stein, has been popular. In recent years, under Jonathan Nott, its functionality has been further improved, and together with Fulscher, who took over the baton, it has gained a high reputation. The series combining Brahms' four symphonies and Dvořák's last four symphonies, the brainchild of Frusha, began in 2017 with a combination of two E minor symphonies, was released back to back in number, and is finally complete after the Corona disaster.In the original liner of the first volume, Frusha said that the two composers were indispensable to himself and to the orchestra, that some things Brahms and Dvořák shared and some things they were not alike, and that the contrast between their works brought this into sharp relief. The contrast between the two works brings this to light. This will be the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra's first complete Brahms: Symphonies since Horst Stein (1997). Fulscher made the most of the orchestra's warm sound and adopted a moderate tempo to let the melody sing freely, respecting the traditions of the orchestra. The violins are arranged on both wings, and repeats of the first movement are used in No. 1 and No. 2 to create music on a large scale. This album also includes eight Hungarian Dances. This album also includes eight Hungarian dances, which are also worth listening to. The Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, which is associated with the Czech Republic, has not recorded many of Dvořák's symphonies, with the exception of a few. The unexpected appeal of this release is that it combines Brahms' No. 6, which is said to have been influenced by Brahms' No. 2 and is in the same key, with Brahms' No. 1.
