Description:
The Dresden Court Orchestra was the envy of the great Bach, who felt the "west wind" from Venice beyond the splendor of the 18th century Dresden Court Orchestra, and envied the skills of its musicians, who were far more reliable than those of the Leipzig St. Thomas' Church Orchestra. The excellence of their musical activities can be inferred from the masterpieces of court composers of the time, such as Pisendel, Zelenka, and Heinichen. They were not only rare performers who brought the orchestra the greatest fame in Europe, but also boasted unparalleled skills in composing music in accordance with the latest European trends. This sense was greatly developed in the mid-1710s, when the future King Friedrich August II of Saxony visited Venice, the home of music, on his Grand Tour (a multi-year tour of the country, mainly for academic and disciplinary purposes), where some of the core members of the orchestra received meaningful inspiration from the master Vivaldi, who taught them the music of the time. The fact that some of the core members of the group have received meaningful inspiration from Vivaldi's teachings there was not unrelated to their visit to Venice, the home of music. The Zeffiro, a group of experienced Italian instrumentalists, delivered a full program that revealed how much the court orchestra owed to Italian music in the 18th century, including works by Veracini and Lotti, who visited the Dresden court, in addition to the "west wind" from Venice. The orchestra was led by Alfredo Bernal. The orchestra was led by Alfredo Bernardini and his wind players, who once again produced an impressive sound that was full of flavor and breadth. Please enjoy the virtuosity of these talented composers, one of whom is indispensable in understanding Bach's contemporaries.
