This is a solo organ album by Matthew Owens, who was appointed Music Director of Belfast Cathedral Choir in September 2019. Having studied at Cheetham's School of Music in Manchester and at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Amsterdam Conservatory, he has given well-received recitals as an organist throughout the UK and in Europe. As a conductor, he has made guest appearances with the London Mozart Players and the British Symphony Orchestra, and has recorded over 30 CDs. On this album, he performs Christmas music from a wide repertoire ranging from Baroque works by J.S. Bach and Dakan to contemporary works by Philip Moore and others, as well as his own compositions.
