A collection of works by Chopin and Mussorgsky entitled "Promenade." The Hungarian-Swiss pianist Andrea Kauten will perform two collections of pieces of varying character. She explores the colorful Chopin Preludes and the stately Russian-inspired Mussorgsky, while at the same time exploring the ethnic characteristics common to both works. Kauten began playing the piano at the age of 7 and won first prize at the Swiss Youth Music Competition at the age of 14. After attending the Conservatory in Basel, he entered the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. He has developed a restrained and romantic style of playing, and has received high acclaim for his piano concertos by Clara Schumann and Brahms, as well as works by Liszt and Schumann. Naxos Japan
