A new generation of French singer Héloïse Mas has attracted attention with her strong presence at the 2018 Queen Elisabeth International Competition in the vocal category, although she came in fifth place. Her mezzo voice, which has a distinctive richness, is truly rich in flavor, and she is a perfect match for important roles in Wagner and R. Strauss, as well as for Rossini and Donizetti, for which she spins vivid interpretations. And it is precisely because of this richness of dramatic expression that the arias sung by Handel's characters in the most complicated roles in his plays are so captivating. ...... This album is the result of this wonderful work. With an ancient instrument orchestra led by L. Cummings, an experienced veteran of the British baroque opera world, Mas's interpretations show a wide variety of expressions from thrilling arias with intense intonation to mellow numbers, and the songs are among Handel's best, depicting the confusion of the gap between the false movement of the heart and dramatic reality.
