This is the second collection of 20th century foxtrot music, following the first collection (GP813). Foxtrot is a genre of music for dance, originally from ragtime, which originated in the late 19th century in the U.S. In the 1920s and 1930s, after World War I, jazz and foxtrot became very popular in Europe as symbols of American culture, which people had longed to be a part of. Jazz and foxtrot became very popular in Europe in the 1920s and 1930s, symbolizing the American culture that people had longed for. In particular, Germany during this period was experiencing a unique era of "Weimar culture," a period of remarkable cultural development in the arts in general, and a succession of works were created that greedily took in this new music and fused it with German traditions. In this album, Gottlieb Wallisch, who was born in Vienna and has performed with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, performs eight works, including world premiere recordings. These pieces, which were destined to be dismissed as "decadent music," have been revived in the 21st century. Naxos Japan
