The performance was selected as the second place in the Guardian's Top 10 Dance Performances of 2018. The performance features many dancers from Japan, including Ruka Akuri, Fusei Kaneko, Yuhi Sai, and Akane Takada. You can enjoy the dramatic performance of the acclaimed Natalia Makarova's version. The setting is ancient India. The warrior Sorollu and the temple princess Nikiya were engaged to be married, but the Raja decided to marry his daughter Gamzatti to Sorollu, and Sorollu, shaken by Gamzatti's beauty, accepted. Nikiya dances in sorrow at the betrothal ceremony, but is killed in a plot hatched by Raja and his son. Sorol, addicted to opium, is attracted to the phantom Nikiya.Then, at the wedding with Gamzatti, the temple collapses from God's wrath, everyone dies, and the souls of Nikiya and Sorol, who ascended to heaven, are united forever.
