Description:
The Paris Palace, home to some of the finest paintings of the Baroque era. Masterpieces loved by France, performed on ancient instruments! This 18th century palace is located in the heart of Paris, near Place de la Concorde. The palace, which was used as a villa of the Count of Toulouse at the end of the reign of Louis XIV, has been owned by the Bank of France since the Napoleonic era until the present. The "Golden Room" is a magnificent interior that leaves visitors in awe, with masterpieces by Guido Reni, Pietro da Cortona, and other great Baroque painters who are essential to the history of Western painting. The Conseil de la Loge, a group of virtuoso musicians at the forefront of the French classical music scene, has been invited to perform a live concert in this grand hall, and a film will be released to allow you to enjoy the music and take in the refined beauty of the palace, down to the smallest details. The program includes a selection of masterpieces by both domestic and foreign composers who were especially loved in France during the Baroque and Rococo periods, when the palace would have functioned as a place for active socializing. The Cambini Quartet, composed of members of the Concert de la Loge (cellist Jun Sakai, who recently toured Japan with Christophe Rousset to great acclaim), also gave a tasteful performance of Mozart and Boccherini, and is rapidly gaining attention not only in the European classical music scene but also in the opera world. Jody DeVos' solo singing was also exquisite. Haydn's works have many solo parts, and the interior of the concert hall, set in the 18th century, provides a series of shots that allow the audience to enjoy the details of each part's performance on ancient instruments. Andy Zomer, who has worked extensively as a director of music videos in France, has a wonderful point of view and has created a dreamlike work that takes us back to 18th century France while allowing us to enjoy the finest interpretations of ancient instrumental music.
