Strasbourg Percussion Group has been active for nearly 60 years since its formation in 1962, despite repeated member changes. This is a collection of percussion works by Japanese composers, fully released on their own label. The group commissioned Toshio Hosokawa to write "Kiu," the first percussion piece he has written in 20 years, as well as Yoshihisa Taira's "Ierophony V" and Michika Kishino's "Scattered Flowers," all of which were premiered by the Strasbourg Percussion Group. This album is ideally suited to include Toru Takemitsu's masterpiece, which was inspired by Kenzaburo Oe's novel. Although the group has been rejuvenating its members and moving closer to electronics in recent years, this album, featuring purely percussion instruments, is one that has been eagerly awaited by a wide range of fans. An analog version is also available. The original cover of this CD is written in Japanese, but the "S" in "Strasbourg" is missing and it is written as "Trasbourg Percussion Group".We will include a sash covering the front and back of the product, which will correctly say "Strasbourg Percussion Group". Please note that the band will be correctly referred to as "Strasbourg Percussion Group. Naxos Japan
