Bantock helped found the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and was a professor of music at Birmingham University. As a composer, he left many works, many of which have been forgotten. However, his works, which incorporate the essence of English folk songs in the late Romantic style, are being performed more and more recently, and their beautiful sound has captured the hearts of many listeners. This album contains 23 piano works written between 1894 and 1938. All of them are world premiere recordings, and this is a valuable piece that will lead to a reappraisal of Bantock as a composer.
