Takuya Niinomi (1988-) is an up-and-coming musician living in Budapest. After studying at International Christian University and Hitotsubashi University, he studied at the Liszt School of Music. This album is a tribute to Richard Wagner, performed with deep empathy and insight by Shinnomi, a "Wagnerian" who lives to pay homage to Bayreuth. It includes Wagner's opera transcriptions by Liszt, Kocsis, and others, rare piano pieces by Wagner himself, and a memorial to Wagner by Liszt. Shinnomi's performance is overhead and large in scale, and combined with the tuning of virtuoso pianist Yokoyama Peter, it creates an orchestral sense of color and depth. (C)RS
