Mokoma's storming style combines Scandinavian melancholy with the aggression of death metal. Finnish thrash metal band Mokoma was formed in 1996. Originally started as a solo project of Marko Annala (G,Vo), the band made its album debut in 1998 with "Valu". Initially playing hard rock/heavy metal, the band transformed into a thrash metal band by the time of their third album "Kurimus" in 2003. Since then, they have released an album every few years at a high pace. Mokoma has had many fans here in Japan, having visited Japan five times, including Loud Park 2013 (and again in April of last year with their ally STAM1NA). Mokoma will release their first new album in four years.The title of this album, "Myrsky" (Finnish for "storm"), combines the melancholic lyricism of Finland with the aggression of death metal, and is a blast of Mokoma's thrash metal style. The band's extremely tight performance is also a weapon in their arsenal. All songs are sung in Finnish, which is one of their characteristics.
