Cliff Nobles discovered soul singer's only album in 1968! Fantastic Johnny C." aka Johnny Corley, a soul singer from South Carolina, was discovered by Cliff Nobles, known for his hit "The Horse," and made his debut in 1967 with M-1 and 13, produced by Jesse James, who also produced the song. The song was a Billboard R&B hit. The song was a big hit, reaching No. 5 on the Billboard R&B chart. This is his only album (1968) released on Phil L.A. Of Soul label.The album features covers of Wilson Pickett's famous "Dance Heaven" (M-5) and Ben E. King (M-10), as well as deep vocals reminiscent of Joe Simon and others, along with a funkiness in the sound. Bonus tracks include M-14 inspired by "The Horse" and three other songs. Includes obi commentary.
