Scandinavian avant-pop treasure Jenny Val's latest! Jenny has released her latest album from 4AD! The first single "Jupiter" is a mellow city pop song that mixes with sweet industrial sound with uplifting choruses, and "Year One" is a percussive soundscape reminiscent of Paul Simon's "The Rhythm Of The Saints" with Val's silky voice fluttering in the background. The album features a total of eight tracks, including "Year of Love," a percussive soundscape reminiscent of Paul Simon's "The Rhythm Of The Saints," and Val's silky voice fluttering in the background. The backing band includes the elite of the Scandinavian jazz scene, such as Johan Lindvall and Hans Halvekmo, as well as their close friend Håvard Volden, and the engineers, continuing from the previous album, are the talented Ehime Kadok, who has worked with a wide range of artists from big names such as Ryuichi Sakamoto and Bjork to independent acts such as Alex G and Puma Blue. The band is backed by Håvard Volden, a close friend and ally of the band.During the pandemic period, the band faced the question of who they were as an artist and as a human being, and the answers they found are now resounding as the supreme expression of beautiful avant-pop music. The CD of this album, distributed in Japan, includes a commentary and bilingual lyrics.
