Description:
Masanobu Shinoda (Composition) graduated from the Department of Composition, Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts, and completed the master's course at the same university. Studied composition under Junchu Otaka and Eisuke Tsuchida, and piano under Emiko Harimoto and Hitomi Ohata. He has received numerous awards, including the 22nd and 27th Japan Symphony Foundation Encouragement Prizes, the 16th Nagoya Culture Promotion Award, the 1st Prize in Composition at the 74th Japan Music Competition, the Special Jury Prize at the 1st National Composition Competition of the Italian Cultural Institute in Japan, the 9th Keizo Saji Award, etc. In 2006, he commissioned "Just Composed in Yokohama". His work was invited to the Takefu International Music Festival in 2011. He has participated in several composers' groups (NEXT, Cue, Chrono-Protoi) and projects, and his works have also been commissioned by prominent performers and organizations.Recent works include the chamber music "Different tunes" series, the choral piece "Language Jack," and the brass band piece "Groovy monsters," and the piano piece "Carbonic Acid" has been published by Zen-On Music Publishing Co. In addition, as a pianist, he has premiered new works, collaborated with vocal and instrumental ensembles, and collaborated with dance, among many other performance activities. Kiwao Nomura (text) is a poet. Born in Saitama Prefecture in 1951, he graduated from Waseda University with a BA in Japanese Literature. As one of the leading poets of the postwar generation, he has remained at the forefront of contemporary poetry, and has also written novels, criticism, and translations. He has written and translated many books.His poetry collections include "Kawafure", "Repetitive Wandering", "Under the Sun without Characteristics" (Rekitei New Poet Award), "Gendai Shisho Bunko, Kiwao Nomura Poetry Collection", "Distribution of the Wind" (Takami Jun Award), "New Inspiration" (Gendai Shisho Hanatsubaki Award), "Rainbow is a Snake under a City Cloth", "Spectacle", "Nude Day" (Fujimura Memorial Rekitei Award), "Déja Vu Kaido", "Soudage in the Twilight" (Gendai Shisho Award). (Contemporary Poet Prize), "Odyssey Without Bones" and "Maze Maze" as novels, "Manual of Contemporary Poetry," "Movement, Rhythm and Daze" (Nobuo Ayukawa Award), "Testimony and Lyricism: The Poet Yoshiro Ishihara and Us," "Philosophy's Bones, Poetry's Flesh" as criticism, and "René Char's Poetry Collection: With a Critical Biography" as translation. Overseas, he received the 2012 Best Translated Book Award in Poetry (USA) for "Spectacle & Pigsty," a collection of selected poems translated into English. His English translation of "The Day laid bare" was selected as a British Poetry Book Society Recommended Poetry Collection.Ryuta Nishikawa (Conductor) was born in 1972. Graduated from Waseda University and Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. Completed the master's course at the same university. While a student at Waseda University, he served as the conductor of the glee club. Upon graduation from Waseda University, he entered the University of the Arts. Conducted the world and Japan premieres of eight works by composers from seven countries at the Asian Music Festival 2010, and planned and conducted the "Solo Exhibition of Choral Works by Joji Yuasa and Yoriko Matsudaira" (2011-16) and "Yoshio Yamura 80th Birthday Festival" (2018). He participated in the "Akiyoshidai Summer 2013" Contemporary Music Seminar & Festival as an invited lecturer and performer. While a student at the University of the Arts, he founded and became the conductor of "Vox humana", a one-person, one-part vocal ensemble, with volunteers from the vocal music department. Aiming to create a new era of music, he has collaborated with composers and premiered 190 works to date. He is the conductor of the male chorus "Cœur Zephyr", the mixed chorus "Kuu", and the female chorus "Dawn". He is the Permanent Conductor of the Mixed Chorus of Seikei University.
