This is the third album by Ana Lainez, one of the leading female singers of the new generation of Fado. While maintaining the sound concept of her previous works, the content here is a multifaceted introduction to the various cultures of Portugal. The album incorporates not only her musical roots in fado, but also the traditional music of the Beiras region in central Portugal and the mountainous region of Trás-os-Montes in the northeast, and adds piano, accordion, string section, and other non-fado instruments to create a sophisticated arrangement. Ana also sings in the traditional Fado style, while at the same time showing her wide range of vocal techniques as a popular singer.
