[Herbert von Karajan, a great conductor who reigned over the classical music world in the 20th century with his outstanding musicality and charisma. In the "Karajan's Legacy" series, which Karajan energetically worked on in his later years in the 1980s, the Beethoven cycle is the one he devoted the most energy to completing. The Ninth Symphony, in particular, was recorded separately from the CD recording of the complete symphonies, and the Vienna Musikverein Choir was brought to Berlin to sing the chorus, and four soloists appointed by Karajan traveled from all over the world to participate in the recording. In parallel with his worldwide concert activities, Karajan continued his pursuit of perfecting the finest music using the latest technology, and the conclusion he reached in the end was an overwhelmingly masterful performance. The result is a film that is truly worthy of being called the legacy of a master musician.
