This is the first CD release of the classic album "Love Country Style" released in 1970, which is a fusion of country and soul, following the trend of "Modern Sounds in Country & Western Music", an album that has been promoting a new interpretation of country music since the 1960s. This is a groundbreaking and truly heartwarming album that further advances the fusion of country and soul. The album features innovative arrangements of songs such as Johnny Cash's classic "Ring of Fire," as only the genius Ray could do. In the 1950s, Ray Charles had many hits with Atlantic Records, including "What I Say," and reached the pinnacle of R&B and gospel music. He also released a new interpretation of country music, "Modern Sounds in Country & Western Music," on his own record label, Tangerine Records, in 1962, and the single "I Can't Stop Loving," which also reached No. 1 on the Billboard Pop charts. It also won a Grammy the following year, making it the best-selling album by a black musician and in country. The follow-up, Vol. 2, was also highly acclaimed, and these albums changed the course of popular music, and were a testament to Ray's genius.Then in 1973, he left ABC and closed Tangerine at the same time. He established a new company, Crossover Records. After 50 years, Tangerine Records was revived and released a 6-CD box set "True Genius" in 2021. Since then, the label has remastered and re-released some of its hard-to-find masterpieces on LP and CD.
