I attended the first screening of the film and was asked by the director to translate it into Japanese. It took a great deal of concentration and courage to translate Celibidacke's words, which can be compared to a Zen question and answer, into Japanese subtitles within a limited number of characters, but it was an extremely enjoyable task. In the film, Celibidacke himself speaks eloquently about his beliefs as an artist and his thoughts on Bruckner's music. There are many documentaries on conductors, but only Celibidacke has such a film. Director's ProfileSerge Ioan Cherebidache was born in 1968 to a father and mother, Serge and Ioana Cherebidache, in Indiana University, USA.
