Beethoven (1770-1827)

Description:

Gould's Beethoven, which occupies the second most important position after Bach, is performed with youthful intensity! Beethoven's unique music, born of dizzying speed, effervescent energy, and an unparalleled style of performance, was a lifelong commitment to counterpoint, which he perfected in his later works. According to Gould, it was an integrated counterpoint that bore no resemblance to that of the Baroque period, and it responded to the demands of classical structures such as sonatas, which in turn led to structural modifications. The third collection in the series features the best possible sound quality of Gould's masterpieces recorded before he was contracted exclusively by CBS. The third collection in the series is Beethoven's Sonatas and Variations. Sonata No. 28, which has never been recorded by Sony, is truly precious. The final movement, the Fugue, is overwhelmingly powerful. This is a unique performance that strongly expresses the youthful and heated fun of the piece. The "Eroica Variations" was also a powerful performance that became more and more full of energy as it progressed into the second half. The techniques of fugue and variation, which are important factors for Beethoven, are also a great weapon for Gould to express himself, and the fact that he brings out a different charm from Bach's is a point that cannot be overlooked. The commentary that examines Gould's playing by comparing it with Beethoven players of the time such as Schnabel and Backhaus is also worthwhile reading. The jacket design is printed in silver. The colors cannot be reproduced on the screen using image data, and the album has sufficient value as a product. This is an album that you should definitely add to your collection. The album has been remastered to preserve the original sound as much as possible, so some noise may be present. Please understand. King International
